@ukbuilding: Delighted to have attended the @RIBASouthWest event at @Bristol_Beacon tonight. A complex and challenging transformation project. @LevittBernstein, @AlecFrenchArchs, @WillmottDixon. Such a fantastic building to provide “belonging and community” for music listeners.
[The Alec French Team] were always professional, pragmatic and transparent. They quickly integrated themselves as part of our team and delivered high quality information within extremely demanding circumstances on what was colloquially known as ‘a once in a lifetime project’.
The team were an absolute pleasure to work with, acting with both integrity and humility, and were fundamental to the successful delivery of the project.
We would have no hesitation in working with them again or providing anything other than a positive reference.

We’ve been working on this for several years and are really pleased to finally be able to share the full vision with the city. A true ‘one-of-a-kind’ project.

@Housing_Fest ‘Our approach eliminates hotel-like rows of doors while creating opportunities for dual aspect living, fine-tuned massing and pleasing spaces to inhabit’ – @AlecFrenchArchs on their proposed design for the @brighterplaces Midland Road Design Competition.
The design is architecturally distinctive, informed by the vision/philosophy of creating a ‘village’ feel. I like the ‘branches’ in the supporting structure for the decks – this lends the design a bit more of an organic feel and reflects an ‘apple tree on the village green’ theme.
I was most impressed with the starting point of the design concept where the team have engaged with the history of the area and allowed that to shape their ideas.
