Melksham Oak Community School, Wiltshire

Client: Wiltshire Council
Value: £22.6m
Duration: 2006 – 2010

Appointed as part of a Gardiner & Theobald (GTMS) appointed team, Alec French led the design development of the new £22.6million One School Pathfinder Secondary School for Wiltshire Council on an extremely sensitive site, in planning terms, on the edge of Melksham.

Obtaining a successful planning approval involved considerable planning negotiations including with English Heritage and English Nature.

Alec French Architects were retained by Wiltshire Council to act as part of their team, led by GTMS, monitoring the Contractor’s work during the construction.
