Anna Williams
Part II Architectural Assistant

Anna Williams joined the Alec French Architects in June 2018.

Originally, she studied at Oxford School of Architecture for both undergraduate and post graduate qualifications, developing skills in both architecture and urban design, primarily studying under the pioneering ‘Responsive Environments Group’.  During her studies, Anna attended exchanges with Istanbul Technical University The Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon and Barcelona School of Architecture.

Anna’s particular interests lie in sustainable urban design and the application of design technology for energy conservation and generation to combat climate change.  She has also won a competition for the design of six and a half acres of mixed development within an historic town.

In addition to the above, Anna has designed a large variety of building types including hospitals, schools, housing, sports centres and retail.  Her focus is to produce sensitive contemporary design that meets the clients’ vision and which also responds to historic context if appropriate.

Finally, Anna has acted as an advisor to a town council and other community groups, such as the British Legion regarding the conservation of  historic buildings, monuments and parks.
