Proposals for a temporary office development on Bristol + Bath Science Park achieve planning

Alec French Architects have been commissioned to develop proposals for a temporary office building to sit alongside the existing Forum Building on the Bristol and Bath Science Park. Alec French are working with United Communities

Launchpad is a partnership between United Communities Housing Association, Bristol University Students Union, 1625 Independent people (1625ip) and Bristol City Council with the support of property industry charity LandAid. New proposals for the Old Bristol Royal Infirmary

Alec French are working with Unite Students to prepare a planning application for the Old Bristol Royal Infirmary and adjacent land. The proposal comprises of 62 private residential flats in the old building, refurbishment of the listed chapel and student new build to the south of the site with associated improvements to the public realm including a new square. Work continues at Corsham School

The construction of the new 6th Form Centre at The Corsham School is progressing well. The external timber wall panels and roof panels have been attached to the steel portal frame. The timber stud framing for the internal partition walls is up and the timber battens to support the larch cladding is being attached. When complete, the building will provide flexible space for the school with a common room, study spaces, offices, kitchenette, WCs and storage.

More awards for Being Brunel

Being Brunel for the SS Great Britain Trust continues to successfully win awards this year. Pleasingly they are for Culture and Leisure as well as for Architecture. Recent wins include: Bristol Property Awards - Winner Civic Development, Heritage + Museum Awards - Best Permanent Exhibition, RICS Regional Awards - Winner Leisure and Tourism Award.
