Wapping Wharf

Great news for Alec French! Shortlisted for RIBA South West and Wessex Awards

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the RIBA Awards 2017. It’s great to see one of our projects amongst the finalists for this well-known awards ceremony. The winners will be announced at an evening event on 23rd May.

Wapping Wharf is located on a key site between Bristol’s two waterways, the Floating Harbour and River Avon (New Cut). The client saw the opportunity in 2001 to create a new city centre residential neighbourhood with a distinct dockside character, linking the waterways with new streets and spaces. Now completed, Phase 1 has become a haven for café/bars and other retailers.
The first phase of Wapping Wharf, at the western end, is now complete. This first phase features 194 residential apartments for both sale and rent, including 26 affordable homes, and 865 sq. metres of retail/leisure space. including wheelchair disabled access units. Car parking is concealed below landscaped courtyards. All apartments have level access, also balconies, roof terraces and courtyard terraces. A CHP engine provides energy for the whole development and there are photovoltaic panels on the roof, all to achieve CfSH Level 4.
