Alec French Architects have been commissioned to develop proposals for a temporary office building to sit alongside the existing Forum Building on the Bristol and Bath Science Park. The new building will provide much needed office space for the park and has been designed to utilise off-site manufacture to expediate construction with a focus on the creation of high quality office space. The new office building will be subservient to the larger Science Park buildings acting as a pavillion overlooking the central green common.
The 2.6m wide, fully fitted out modules will be delivered to site on lorries before final assembly and have been configured with longer modules placed together to form a cantilevered element with a generous terrace for the second floor above. This element is further highlighted by its light grey metal cladding contrasting with bronze metal cladding on the modules above and below.
